SUMMARY:Circular supply chains: Digital Product Passport and Circular design strategies
DESCRIPTION:October 24th \n 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. \nOnline session \nREGISTRATION \n\nFor organisations\, adopting circular economy strategies to transition to more environmentally friendly and sustainable practices has become an imminent requirement\, not only to align with the global sustainable development agenda\, but also as a source of competitive advantage and long-term profitability. \nThe circular supply chain emerges as a fundamental pillar within the circular economy concept. By focusing on the optimisation of resources\, the reuse of materials and the reduction of waste\, this approach seeks to close the life cycle of products\, promoting more efficient and sustainable management. \nIn this sense\, Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are transforming the transparency of supply chains by providing detailed information on the entire life cycle of a product. This innovation is crucial in today’s market\, where sustainability and accountability are essential. By providing comprehensive data\, DPPs enable companies to improve their environmental practices. They also help consumers make informed choices. It is important to note that EPDs are not unique to the supply chain\, but affect products in any sector. \nThat is why we would like to invite you to our next interactive online session\, where you will receive valuable s on how to implement these strategies in your company\, as well as tools for product design. \n\nAGENDA \n\nIntroduction of circular economy and future legal requirements\nLegal situation: Ecodesign Directive ESPR and Digital Product Passport\nCircular design strategies\, design measures and best practice examples\nTools for Circular Economy and product design: the ECODESIGN+ and the CE-Designer\nQuestions & wrap-up.\n\nMeet Our Experts: \nDr. Rainer Pamminger works at the Institute for Engineering Design at the VUT\, where he manages national and EU research projects. These focus on the development of methods and tools to perform environmental assessments\, product development as well as environmental communications.  Since 2011 he is part of the ECODESIGN company\, and works in the conception and development of tools that integrate environmental aspects on product development processes of diverse organizations and sectors. He also coordinates the customization for enterprises of the web-platform ECODESIGN+ for the assessment of the Carbon Footprint of products. He is Advisor of the Circular Economy Forum Austrian on Circular Design. \nWolfgang Wimmer is Managing Director of the ECODESIGN company and Professor at the Vienna University of Technology\, Austria. As expert in Ecodesign and Circular Economy he holds a professorship at the Vienna University of Technology in Engineering Design and ECODESIGN since 2002. He started already in 1996 with the Austrian Ecodesign platform and since then he lead many projects with industry and published three books on Ecodesign. In 2005 Wolfgang Wimmer founded the ECODESIGN company GmbH together with Kuno Mo Lee and John Polak. He is author of three books about Ecodesign. He is part of the Austrian Circular Economy Task Force from the Ministry of Climate and Ministry of Economy \nREGISTRATION
