The grants will finance the hiring of research staff for a period of three years. The first two years will be spent at a foreign university or R&D&I center, and the last year at a SECTI agent. The PhD researcher will join the SECTI agent within the first 10 days of the third year of the grant.

The purpose of the contract will be to carry out the research tasks described in the submitted research report, aimed at achieving a high level of professional development and specialization, leading to the consolidation of professional experience and fostering the development of the research career of the PhD research staff. The grants regulated in this call will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Requirements for research staff with a doctorate:

1. Hold a PhD from the UEX (Union of Excursions of the University of Extremadura) or a PhD from another university. For doctorates from another university, you must have been born in Extremadura or have currently resided in this autonomous community for at least one year. These requirements must be met by the date of application submission.
2. No more than six years must have elapsed between the date of obtaining the PhD and the closing date for applications. The date of obtaining the PhD will be understood as the date of the doctoral thesis defense and approval.
3. Not have been the beneficiary of a contract with similar characteristics to these grants for a period of more than one year. This fact must be accredited by a sworn statement included in the research staff registration form.

Only one application for assistance from the same SECTI agent will be accepted. If more than one application is submitted, only the most recent application will be processed; the rest will be excluded from the selection process.
